Why your business is missing or wrong
- Apple has no record of it. New businesses, and those that have never appeared in the data sources Apple draws on, simply are not there until someone adds them.
- The listing exists but is unclaimed, built from third-party data, so it carries whatever those sources last said: an old address, a disconnected number, no hours.
- The pin is wrong. Apple placed it by geocoding the address, which puts it mid-street, behind the building or on a neighbouring unit, particularly on industrial estates and long rural roads.
- It is a service-area business with no shopfront, which Apple handles differently from a place customers visit.
- It was claimed by someone else, usually a former agency or web designer.
Claim it in Apple Business
Apple Business Connect was renamed Apple Business in March 2026, and the free listing tools now sit inside that platform. Sign in with an Apple Account, search for the business, and either claim the place Apple already has or add it if there is none. You then get control of the name, category, address or service area, hours, phone, website, logo and photos.
It is free, and there is no equivalent of Google's suspension regime waiting for a small mistake, which makes it a considerably less nerve-racking listing to manage.
Verification, and what it asks for
Apple verifies that you are entitled to manage the place before the changes go live. Depending on the business, that can be a phone call or code to the listed number, an email at the business domain, or documentation. The most common failure is a phone number on the listing that no longer reaches you, so correct that first if you can, or be ready to prove ownership another way.
If verification fails repeatedly, the separate guide on Apple Business verification problems, linked below, goes through the causes.
Fixing a wrong pin
Once you have claimed the place you can drag the pin to the actual entrance, which matters more than it sounds: the pin is where a customer's navigation ends, and a pin at the back of a building sends people to a loading bay. Set it at the door customers use, then check the route by asking Maps to navigate to your own business from a nearby road.
If you cannot claim the place, Apple Maps also accepts corrections reported from the app itself, though these take longer and you cannot see their progress.
While you are there: Bing, and the rest
The same details should match your Google profile and your Bing Places listing, because assistants compare them. Fixing Apple in isolation leaves you with three sources telling three stories. The listings management page linked below covers doing all of them once, properly.
We can handle it
Send your business name and postcode through the form below. We check what Apple Maps currently holds for you, whether the place is claimed and by whom, and where the pin sits, then tell you within one working day what needs doing. Claiming and correcting an Apple listing is usually a small piece of work, and we quote it as such, or include it in listings management if you want Google, Apple and Bing handled together.
