Free Google Business Profile Audit, Read by a Person

Azizi TechnologiesUpdated

A Google Business Profile audit checks a listing against Google's guidelines and against the competitors ranking above it: name, address or service-area setup, categories, services, hours, photos, reviews, questions and duplicates. Automated tools score completeness. A human audit explains which gaps are costing calls and which are risking a suspension.

There are plenty of free tools that will score your Google Business Profile out of a hundred. They check whether fields are filled in, which is worth knowing, and then they ask for your email. What they cannot tell you is whether your primary category is the one your competitors are ranking with, whether your name breaches the guidelines, or whether the duplicate listing three streets away is about to get you suspended.

This audit is read by a person. It takes a working day, it costs nothing, and the findings are yours whether or not you ever speak to us again.

What we check

  • Guidelines: name, address or service-area setup, and location type, the three things that cause most suspensions.
  • Categories: your primary and secondary categories against those used by the businesses currently ranking above you.
  • Services and products: whether the things you actually sell are listed, and described in the words customers search.
  • Hours, including special hours for bank holidays, and whether they match your website and your door.
  • Photos: how many, how recent, and whether anything unflattering or wrong has been added by the public.
  • Reviews: volume, recency, what they mention, and whether they are being answered.
  • Questions and answers: what is sitting there unanswered.
  • Duplicates and stray listings, including practitioner listings and ones created by old agencies or data feeds.

What you get back

A short written summary in plain English: what is wrong, what is missing, what is risky, and what we would do first if it were ours. Anything that could trigger a suspension is flagged separately at the top, because that is the finding that cannot wait.

Where a fix is straightforward, we say so and you can do it yourself. We are not going to pretend that adding your opening hours is specialist work.

What it is not

It is not an automated score, it is not a sales report dressed as an audit, and there is no obligation attached. If your profile is in good shape we will tell you that, which happens more often than the industry admits. If the real problem is your website rather than your profile, we will say that too.

How to request one

Send your profile link, or just your business name and postcode, through the form below, along with the town or towns you want to win work in. We do not need access to your profile for the audit; everything we check is public. Findings come back within one working day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, no small print. If yours isn’t here, ask — you’ll get the same plain English.

Is the Google Business Profile audit really free?

Yes, and there is no obligation. You get the written findings whether or not you go further, including the fixes you could make yourself. We do it because a specific, honest audit is a better introduction than a sales pitch, and because a good proportion of profiles turn out to need less work than the owner feared.

Do you need access to my profile?

No. Everything in the audit is publicly visible: the profile itself, the competitors ranking around you, and any duplicate listings. Access is only needed if you go on to have the work done, and then it is manager access on the profile, never your Google account password.

How is this different from a free audit tool?

Tools check whether fields are filled in and produce a completeness score. They cannot tell you that your primary category is not the one winning the map pack in your town, that your business name breaches the guidelines, or that an old duplicate listing is a suspension risk. Those judgements need a person who has seen the pattern before.

How long does the audit take?

One working day in normal circumstances. Multi-location businesses and practices with practitioner listings take longer, because each listing is checked separately and duplicates between them are the most common finding. We will tell you if yours is one of those when you send the details.

What if my profile is suspended?

Then the audit becomes a reinstatement assessment instead, which is also free: we identify the likely breach and tell you honestly whether it can be reinstated before quoting anything. Send the suspension email along with the profile link, and see the reinstatement service page for what the work involves.
